Box Score MEADVILLE, Pa. - Mount Union's offense was held to just three hits in a 3-1 loss at Allegheny on cool Spring Friday at the Robertson Complex in Meadville, Pa.
The Purple Raiders (18-13) three hits came on singles from James Weber (Auburn, Ind./Garrett), and Tyler Simcox (Akron/Ellet) with the third being a double from Sean Mohney (Lodi/Cloverleaf).
Wes Kemp (Uniontown/Lake) got the start and took the loss for Mount Union, giving up two runs on five hits while striking out seven and walking four.
Allegheny (19-12) took the lead in the bottom of the fourth with a bases loaded single that plated a pair of runs.
The Gators tacked on their third run in the sixth inning with an RBI double to right field.
The Raiders scored their lone run in the eighth as Simcox chased home Mohney on an RBI groundout to the left side of the infield.
Zach Hale picked up the win for Allegheny while Justin Stascak earned the two-inning save in relief.
Mount Union returns home to play Hiram in a single nine inning game tomorrow (April 25) at 1:00 pm at 23rd Street Field in Alliance.
