No. 3 seed Mount Union hosts No. 6 seed Marietta in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Whitehill Tennis Courts in Alliance.
The Purple Raiders, 13-5 overall, enter the tournament on a six-match win streak that started with an 8-1 win over Marietta on April 8.
The Pioneers are 4-12 overall and had won two-straight matches before losing its regular season finale, 9-0 at John Carroll last week.
Mount Union is led by senior MacKenzie Jenkins (North Hampton/Northwestern) who is 17-1 overall and went a perfect 8-0 in the OAC at No. 1 singles.
Jenkins also teamed with junior Megan Reichert (Ashtabula/Lakeside) to go 14-2 at No. 1 doubles.
Marietta is led by senior Kelsey Jeffrey, who has nine wins at No. 5 singles while her and Hannah Stankus have seven wins at No. 3 doubles.
The winner of this match advances to the semifinals Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the Linder Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
The OAC Tournament winner will claim the conference's automatic bid to the 49-team NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship.
