ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's baseball team got a great pitching performance then survived a wild game to sweep a pair of games from Otterbein in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday at 23rd Street Field in Alliance.

The Purple Raiders finish the season 22-14 overall and 10-8 in the OAC while Otterbein finishes 23-13 and 9-9 in the OAC.  Both teams did not qualify for the four-team OAC Tournament.

Kyle Toma (Strongsville/Strongsville) started game one for Mount Union and went 7.2 innings allowing just one run on eight hits to finish the season with nine wins -- second most in the OAC.

James Weber (Auburn, Ind./Garrett) had three hits while Adam Bialosky (Hinkley/Medina Highland) drove in two runs to pace the Raiders at the plate.

Anthony Morino (Strongsville/Strongsville) got the Raiders on the board driving in a run on a two-out double in the second to make it 1-0.

Nick Piotrowski (Macedonia/Nordonia) had two-out RBI double in the fourth that pushed the lead to 2-0 while Sean Mohney (Lodi/Cloverleaf) had a two-out RBI triple to plate another run in the fifth.

Otterbein's lone run came in the sixth on a wild pitch from Toma.

Bialosky had a two-run single in the eighth for the 5-1 final.

In game two, Otterbein led 5-3 entering the bottom of the sixth inning when the Raiders took advantage of five Cardinal errors sent 14 batters to the plate with five hits and scored 11 runs to lead 14-5.

The Raiders tacked on another run to lead 15-5 after seven innings but Otterbein scored six in the eighth and five in the ninth to retake the lead 16-15.

In the bottom of the ninth, Derek Sullivan (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler Area) started the inning by being hit by the pitch then was lifted for a pinch runner in Piotrowski.

After a strikeout and a flyout, Morino had a hit up the middle then Tyler Simcox (Akron/Ellet) hit a triple to the center field that scored both runs and end the game.
