Mount Union's women's soccer team wants to look for what's next in 2015 as the Purple Raiders have set the school-record for wins and made the OAC Tournament in each of the last two seasons.
The Raiders open the season Tuesday, Sept. 1 hosting Wooster at 7:30 p.m. at Mount Union. A live video broadcast and live stats of the game will be available on http://athletics.mountunion.edu
Fifth year head coach Kelley Clark returns four starters and 10 letterwinners this season as Mount Union looks to win a post-season match for the first time since 1996.
Heading up the list of returners on offense is senior forward Kelsey Malenic. Malenic, an All-Region and All-OAC First Team selection last year, was second in the conference with a team-best 31 points and 13 goals.
Junior midfielder Carolyn Balzano, an all-conference performer two years ago, senior midfielder Bridget Mulhall and junior midfielder Taylor Lanese also are returning starters on offense.
On defense, the Raiders must replace all-conference and three-year starter in goalkeeper Maria Favorite. The top returning players in the back for Mount Union include senior Essie McBride and junior Katie Baker.
Mount Union will head to central Ohio this weekend to play games Saturday, Sept. 5 at Denison and Sunday, Sept. 6 at Kenyon.
