Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's soccer team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Baldwin Wallace 1-0 Tuesday at Mount Union Stadium.
Senior Carolyn Balzano (Poland/Poland Seminary) placed the ball in the top left corner of the Baldwin Wallace net to tally the game's only goal in the 48th minute for the Purple Raiders.
Junior goalkeeper Paige Freel (Niles/Niles McKinley recorded nine saves to post her first shutout of the season.
Mount Union evens its record at 1-1 in conference play and 5-6 overall while Baldwin Wallace falls to 7-5-1 overall and 1-1 in the OAC.
The Raiders next play Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. against Heidelberg in Tiffin.
