ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to Ohio Wesleyan Wednesday evening in Alliance.
The Purple Raiders, now 7-3, saw their only win come from Gretchen Groves (Louisville/Louisville) at the No.1 singles position--6-1, 6-2.
In doubles, the No.3 doubles team of Ashley Gran (Lakeside/Ashtabula) and Kayla Johnston (Lakeside/Ashtabula) rallied but fell 9-7.
Mount Union saw two other positions go the distance in singles when Alix Stein (New Philadelphia/ New Philadelphia) and Anna Nelson (Aurora/Aurora) both lost after winning the first set.
Ohio Wesleyan improves to 4-2 on the season.
The Raiders are back in action next Friday, March 25th, when they host Baldwin Wallace to open OAC play. The match is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
