ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss to Otterbein in an Ohio Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon in Alliance.
The Purple Raiders, now 11-7 and 4-4 in the OAC, battled in doubles play but were swept to start the match. The No.1 doubles team of Gretchen Groves (Louisville/Louisville) and Megan Reichert (Ashtabula/Lakeside) fell in a tiebreaker.
In singles , the Raiders were led by Groves and Alix Stein (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia), who both dropped their first sets but came back to win in a third set tiebreaker.
Mount Union has qualified for the OAC Tournament and will play their quarterfinal match either Tuesday May 3rd or Wednesday May 4th.
