Box Score 2 BEREA, Ohio -- Mount Union's baseball team suffered 8-0 and 9-2 losses at Baldwin Wallace in an Ohio Athletic Conference series Friday at Fisher Field in Berea, Ohio.
The sweep knocked the Purple Raiders out of contention for next week's four-team OAC Tournament and the season ends at 18-20 overall and 8-10 in the conference.
Baldwin Wallaced locked up an OAC Tournament spot and the Yellow Jackets are now 20-17 overall and 12-4 in the OAC
The 8-0 shutout in game one was just the second time this season that Mount Union failed to score a run as BW pitcher Mike Zimmerman went the distance and allowed only five hits, striking out seven for the win.
Mount Union had chances early with a runner thrown out at the plate and stranded two runners in second inning.
Baldwin Wallace scored a run in the second and another in the third for a 2-0 lead.
The game was still 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh when the Raiders had four errors in the field that resulted in a six-run inning for the Jackets and put the game out of reach.
Jimmy Scott (Holland/Toledo St. John's) was the only Raiders with multiple hits with two.
In game two, built an 8-0 lead over the first four innings and went on to the 9-2 victory.
Mount Union had just seven hits in game two as Nick Satovich (New Kensington, Pa./Plum) had two of those hits and drove in a run.
