Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union senior running back Bradley Mitchell (Detroit, Mich./South Lake) rushed for 120 yards and three scores on just six carries as the top ranked Purple Raiders had 419 rushing yards in a 56-0 shutout of Marietta Saturday at Mount Union Stadium.
It was the 96th straight home win and 105th consectutive regular season win for Mount Union that is now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Mitchell, who had scoring runs of 46, 11 and 13 yards, posted his second straight and 14th career 100-yard rushing game and now has 3,423 career yards which places him fourth on Mount Union's all-time rushing list.
He led an offense that churned out 579 total yards -- 357 of them in the first half as the Raiders got out to a 50-0 halftime lead.
Freshmen quarterbacks Luke Poorman (Orlando, Fla./University School) and D'Angleo Fulford (Cooper City, Fla./Miramar) combined to go 9-for-9 passing in the first half for 144 yards with three touchdowns.
Senior wide receiver Jordan Hargrove (Akron/St. Vincent-St. Mary) had a career-best 96 yards receiving with 74 of them coming on a long touchdown pass from Poorman.
Junior Jared Ruth (Indianpolis, Ind./Pike) caught just three passes but two of them were touchdowns from Fulford.
The only scoring in the second half were a pair of Alex Louthan (Loganville, Ga./Grayson) field goals from 23 and 38 yards for the 56-0 final.
Mount Union's defense posted its sixth shutout over its last 10 OAC games as the Raiders held Marietta (0-2, 0-1) to 65 yards rushing and 220 total yards.
Darrien Fields was 14-of-31 passing for 156 yards and Tanner Clark had 48 yards rushing for the Pioneers.
A pair of Mount Union sophomores each had interceptions in Austin White (Wadsworth/Wadsworth) and Danny Robinson (Massillon/Massillon Washington). Robinson returned his 74 yards for a score.
Robinson also had half a sack while junior tackle Mike Vidal (Miami, Fla./Ronald Regan Doral) had 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss.
Fellow tackle in junior Adam Mihoci (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) had a team-best 5.0 tackles and forced a fumble.
