Box Score BEREA, Ohio – Bradley Mitchell (Detroit, Mich./South Lake) ran for a career high 259 yards on 32 carries as No. 1 ranked Mount Union beat Baldwin Wallace, 49-7 in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday night at George Finnie Stadium.
Mitchell ran for those 259 yards on a career-high 32 carries and was the most yards in a game for a Mount Union running back since Nate Kmic ran for 310 against Wheaton (Ill.) in 2008.
He led an offense that gained 505 yards as quarterback Luke Poorman (Orlando, Fla./University School) threw for two touchdowns to Tim Kennedy (Hudson/Hudson) and Braeden Friss (Avon/Avon). Jawanza Evans-Morris (Coral Springs, Fla./Taravella) and Dwayne Aaron (Cleveland/Lakewood St. Edward) also ran in for scores.
The defense also had an impressive day after Baldwin Wallace (1-2, 0-2 OAC) took a 7-0 lead on an 82-yard touchdown drive in the first quarter; the Raiders held BW to 106 yards the rest of the day with 6.0 sacks and two interceptions both by Austin White (Wadsworth/Wadsworth).
Brian Groves (Stow/Stow) and Elijah Berry (Dublin/Dublin Scioto) each had six tackles while Charlie Dear (Massillon/Massillon Jackson) had 2.0 sacks.
Mount Union improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the OAC while winning its 106th straight regular season win and 111th straight road win.
The Raiders play next Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Ohio Northern in Ada.
