ALLIANCE, Ohio – No. 2 ranked Mount Union defeated Wilmington 66-7 in an Ohio Athletic Conference contest Saturday in Wilmington.

Mount Union (7-0, 6-0 OAC) quarterback D'Angelo Fulford went 13-for-13 passing with five touchdown passes in the first half as he led the offense to scores on five of their first six drives to get the Purple Raiders out to a 42-0 halftime lead.

Fulford matched his season high with his sixth touchdown pass on the opening drive of the second half and finished the day 14-for-14 for 268 yards passing.

The six touchdowns went to five different receivers as Justin Hill (Circleville / Jireh Prep, N.C.) led the unit with five catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns.

Jawanza Evans-Morris (Coral Springs, Fla. / Taravella) ran for a score while Josh Petruccelli (Perry / Perry) ran for 82 yards on eight carries.

As impressive as the offense was the defense held Wilmington (2-5, 1-5 OAC) in the first half to minus-25 rushing yards and 30 total yards.

Charlie Dear (Massillon / Jackson) led the defense with four tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and half a sack for Mount Union.

After forcing a three and out, it took Mount Union two plays to find the end zone as Fulford found Ruth from 10 yards out to go up 7-0.

The Raider defense took advantage of a bad Wilmington snap that resulted in a 16-yard loss and got another three and out. The offense then drove 60 yards and Fulford found Joe Koscielski for his second TD pass of the day and made it 14-0

Fulford then threw his third TD pass on the Raiders third possession as he found Justin Hill from 14 yards to extend the lead to 21-0.

On the first play of the second quarter, Jawanza Evans-Morris ran in a touchdown from 13 yards and the Raiders pushed the advantage to 28-0.

On a broken play Fulford rolled to his right and found Braeden Friss on a 30-yard touchdown pass to make it 35-0 with 12:54 left in second quarter.

Later in the quarter with the Raiders driving again Hill fumbled the ball trying to reach it into the end zone and Wilmington recovered in the end zone but the Raiders got the ball back and Fulford hit Luke Herrington on an eight-yard scoring pass to make it 42-0 at the break.

Fulford picked right back up where he left off on the opening drive of the second half finding Hill on a 15-yard scoring pass to take the score to 49-0.

Zac Carney (Glenshaw, Pa. / Shaler Area) ran the jet sweep for a 20 yards for a score that made it 56-0.

Wilmington avoided the shutout with 1:33 left in the third quarter when Luke Creditt hit Ameer Jackson on a 32-yard strike.

The scoring was finished with a Luke Poorman (Orlando, Fla. / University School) three-yard touchdown run and an Alex Louthan (Loganville, Ga. / Grayson) 27-yard field goal.
