ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's tennis team faced a 7-2 loss to Ohio Wesleyan University Monday afternoon in a non-conference match at home.
The Purple Raiders are 5-3 on the season, while Ohio Wesleyan improves to 8-3.
Junior Kayla Johnston (Ashtabula/Lakeside) and freshman Jordan Teaford (Canton/GlenOak) defeated OWU's Casey O'Toole and Diamond Person in second doubles to earn a point for the Raiders. Sophomore Gretchen Groves (Louisville/Louisville) and senior Alix Stein (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) also earned a point for Mount Union after winning their match in doubles position one.
The Raiders were shut out in singles play.
Mount Union travels to Berea, Ohio to play Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Baldwin Wallace on Saturday, Mar. 25 at 1 p.m.
