WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- Mount Union's baseball team suffered a 6-5 loss in 10-innings to Wartburg Sunday at Chain O'Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Florida.

Cody Hyler hit a two-out single to right center field for the game winner as Wartburg, an NCAA Tournament team each of the last two seasons, finished its Florida trip with a 5-5 record.

The Purple Raiders (2-1) rallied two different times during the game as they trailed 2-0 before getting on the board in the third inning on a sacrifice fly from Jimmy Scott (Holland/Toledo St. John's).

Mount Union took the lead 4-2 with a three-run sixth inning as Conner Koski (Mayfield Heights/Mayfield) and Billy Goodall (Canfield/South Range) each had RBI singles and Angelo Cruz (Lorain/Elyria Catholic) had a sacrifice fly.

Wartburg came right back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 5-4 lead.

The Raiders tied the game in the ninth as Nick Piotrowski (Macedonia/Nordonia) led off the frame the single, got to third base on a double from Goodall and scored on a sacrifice fly from Scott.

Goodall finished with four hits, Scott drove in two runs as five Raiders had multiple hits from a lineup that had 16 hits.

Mike Martin (Independence/Independence) took the loss out the of pen for Mount Union while Gavin Nadermann pitched an inning of scorless work for Wartburg to get the win.

Mount Union is back on the field Monday at 1 p.m. with a doubleheader against Nebraska Wesleyan at Henley Field in Lakeland, Florida.
