ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's tennis team shut out Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Muskingum 9-0 Wednesday afternoon at Mount Union's Whitehill Tennis Courts.
The Purple Raiders improve to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in the OAC, while Muskingum falls to 2-8 on the season and 0-5 in conference play.
Sophomore Megan Marsh (Marysville/Marysville) earned a point for the Raiders after defeating Muskingum's Sydney McDaniel in sixth position singles (6-0, 6-0), while senior Anna Nelson (Aurora/Aurora) earned the fifth and match-deciding point after beating Kristen Chandler in fifth position singles, 6-0 and 6-1.
Mount Union is scheduled to travel to University Heights, Ohio for a make-up match against OAC opponent John Carroll Thursday, April 20 at 3:30 p.m.
