WOOSTER, Ohio – Mount Union's women's tennis team lost to Wooster in their spring season-opener 6-3 Monday at the Aspen Racquet Club.
The Purple Raiders, now 2-1 after going undefeated in the fall, secured wins in two singles matches and one doubles match.
With victories in singles were sophomore Jordan Teaford (Canton/GlenOak) and senior Kayla Johnston (Ashtabula/Lakeside). Teaford tabbed a 8-2 win over Wooster's Sarah Duran and Johnston with a close one at 8-6 over Shannon Sertz.
Teaford also recorded a win in doubles alongside freshman Gabrielle Wegener (Avon/Avon) against Wooster's Laura Haley and Shannon Sertz 8-6.
Mount Union's next match will be against DeSales (Pa.) on Sunday, March 4 at 6:00 p.m. in Hilton Head, S.C.
