ALLIANCE, Ohio - Mount Union's women's tennis team defeated Baldwin Wallace (7-5, 1-1 OAC) 5-4 in a conference match Monday afternoon.

The Purple Raiders (8-4, 1-1 OAC) started the day with wins in two of three doubles matches in the pairings of Jordan Teaford (Canton/Glenoak) and Gabrielle Wegener (Avon/Avon) 8-3, and Sierra Beighey (Fombell, Pa./Riverside) and Trisha Kohut (Warren/Lordstown) 9-7.

Mount Union and Baldwin Wallace split the singles matches as Gretchen Groves (Louisville/Louisville), Kayla Johnston (Ashtabula/Lakeside) and Teaford all came away with victories.

In the No. 2 singles position, Teaford secured the fifth point for Mount Union in a three-set win with scores of 3-6, 6-0, and 6-1.

Continuing OAC action, Mount Union will stay home and host Muskingum on Wednesday, April 4 at 3:30 p.m.
