Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union scored a season-high 20 runs on 22 hits to defeat Hiram, 20-4 in a non-conference game Thursday at 23rd Street Field.
The Purple Raiders are now 19-11 on the season while Hiram falls to 4-22.
Senior designated hitter Joey Keleman (North Olmsted) had a double, two singles and a three-run home run to center field as he finished 4-for-4 for five runs batted in to pace the Mount Union offense.
Senior Billy Goodall (Canfield / South Range) and sophomore Shawn Baker (Uniontown/Lake) each had three hits while freshman Ryan Boyd (Wooster) drove in a run on two hits and Nathan Duliba (Berea / Berea-Midpark) had two hits for the Raiders.
On the mound, junior Nick Satovich (New Kensington, Pa. / Plum) scattered four hits and allowed only one run in six innings to pick up his first win on the season.
The Purple Raiders blew open a 2-0 game with a seven-run third inning and ended up lead 13-0 before going on to the 20-4 win.
Mount Union takes its final road trip of the regular season Saturday at Capital with first pitch at 1 p.m. from Clowson Field in Columbus.
