Women's Soccer: Mantz Gets Shutout; Raiders Tie Allegheny

Box Score

ALLIANCE, Ohio — Mount Union's women's soccer game with Allegheny (Pa.) was declared a 0-0 tie with 3:41 left in the first overtime with lightning in the area.

Mother Nature might have been the winner on the day as the second half of the game was delayed 75 minutes due to inclement weather.

The game was as close as the score as both teams had 14 shots for the game.

Freshman goalkeeper Skyelar Mantz (Lodi / Cloverleaf) got her first career shutout for the Purple Raiders with five saves.

Mount Union is now 0-1-1 on the season while Allegheny is 1-0-1.

Mount Union next plays a pair of games Friday and Saturday, September 6-7 at the Fredonia State Tournament in Fredonia, N.Y.
