Box Score HIRAM, Ohio— Mount Union's women soccer team found a golden goal in the 104th minute off the leg of junior Cortni Arp (Copley) to grab a 2-1 double overtime victory at Hiram Tuesday night.
Hiram (1-8) got on the board first in the 27th minute and had a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
With the game hanging in the balance in the final two minutes junior Brit McCauley (Ontario) tied things up for Mount Union as she scored a goal off a pass from freshman Madison Pepper (Uniontown / Lake).
After a scoreless first overtime, Arp found the back of the net four minutes into double overtime to seal the win for Mount Union (4-2-1).
Mount Union out-shot Hiram 28-18 while freshman goalkeeper Skyelar Mantz (Lodi / Cloverleaf) had 10 saves.
Mount Union closes out its non-conference schedule against Grove City (Pa.) Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in Grove City, Pa.
