Indoor Track & Field: Pole Vault Record Headlines Day For Raiders

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mount Union women's track and field team was led by sophomore Bri Aveni (Geneva) who posted a new school record mark of 12-feet, 5.5-inches which bested her previous record of 12-2.75 at the YSU Invite Friday afternoon at the Watson and Tressel Training Site in Youngstown, Ohio.

Senior Quinn Crowe (New Springfield / Springfield Local) led the Purple Raiders throwers in shot put with a throw of 35-feet, 2-inches while junior Brit McCauley (Ontario) led the distance team in the mile with a personal record of 5:17.55.

On the mens side Lucas Cooper (Hanoverton / United Local) had a season best throw in the shot-put putting him ninth overall in the Divison III with a distance of 51-feet 2.75-inches. 

The Radiers also had a distance group in the mile led by freshman Jeff Joseph (Beloit / West Branch) with a time of 4:32.87 while freshman teammates Kyle Wolf (Cleveland / Cuyahoga Heights) Brad Yates (Twinsburg) led Mount Union's pole vault group with a jump of 13-feet 3.75-inches.

Mount Union competes next Saturday, January 25 at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.
