Women's Track and Field: Raiders Set School Record in NCAC/OAC/HCAC Challenge Win

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio— Mount Union's women track and field team came away with the win at the NCAC/OAC/HCAC Challenge taking 12 first place finishes.

The Purple Raiders won the meet with a total of 317 points with second place host Wittenberg scoring 100 points.

In the Women's 300 sophomore Lily Bogunovich (Alliance / Marlington) set a new school record with a time of 41.55 with her teammates finishing with her in second through fourth being freshman Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W.V. / Wheeling Central Catholic) (42.02), junior Cortni Arp (Copley) (42.73), and Olivia Powers (Norwalk / St. Paul) (43.30).

Sarah Mason ran new indoor personal record to win the 800 with the 10th fastest time in the nation with a 2:16.71.

In 400 dash Mount Union also took the top four spots with Arp (1:00.22), freshman Julia Henderson (Twinsburg) (1:00.79), junior Hailey Miller (Louisville) (1:01.48) and junior Calista Waters (Beloit / West Branch) (1:02.93).

The women's 500 saw Mount Union take the top three spots with freshman Micah Donley (Carrolton) (1:18.83), freshman Taylor Cupp (Geneva) (1:21.20) and senior Lindsay Thut (Aurora / Crestwood) (1:22.24).

The Women's 4x200 consisting of junior Mariah Eisenbraun (Lisbon / United Local), freshman Ashley Huntley (Sandusky / St. Marys Central Catholic), Powers, Bogunovich won with a time of 1:47.30.

The team consisting of Cupp, Thut, Mason, and Donley ran a 4:03.24 to win the 4x400 relay.

Individual first place came the way of sophomore Bri Aveni (Aveni) in the Pole Vault (11'8"), sophomore Audrey Bishop (Creston / Norwayne) with a long jump personal record of 33-feet 10.25-inches, junior Sabrina Stocker (Madison) with 60-meter hurdles 9.32 seconds, junior Rhiannon Patrisko (Steubenville) with a throw 48-feet 1-inch meters winning the weight throw, Wayt with the 60-dash 7.93, and junior Brit McCauley (Ontario) in the 3000 meter with a new personal record of 10:24.05.

Mount Union competes next at the Dr. William Taraschke Team Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 1 in Berea, Ohio.
