Women's Track and Field: Raiders Take Six Events at Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio— Mount Union's Women track and field team came away with six first place finishes Saturday at the Dr. William Taraschke Team Challenge in Berea, Ohio.

The Purple Raiders got three field event victories from sophomores Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) in the long jump (16' 10.75"), Bri Aveni (Geneva) in the pole vault (12' 0.75") and Audrey Bishop (Creston / Norwayne) in the triple jump (33' 1.75').

Mount Union had three racing victories with the women's 4x400-meter relay team of sophomores Tiayerra Stroncek (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Penn Hills) and Elise Chojnacki (North Royalton), junior Hailey Miller (Louisville) and senior Aamirah Howard (Akron / Woodridge) with a time of 4:19.25.  Freshman Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W.Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) won pair of events in the 55-meter dash (7.35) and the 200-meter dash (26.28).

Mount Union hosts the Jim Wuske Invitational next Saturday on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. in Alliance, Ohio.
