ADA, Ohio—Mount Union's women Track and Field athlete sophomore Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) set a school record in the pentathlon posting the 10th best score in Division III with 3,425 points and finishing first Ohio Northern University Polar Bear Final Qualifier and Multi Friday afternoon at Ohio Northern University.

Gibbins held the record of 3,164 points.

Gibbins began the event with the 60-meter hurdles running it in 9.94 seconds. She went over the high jump bar at 5-feet 3.25-inches. Gibbins threw the shot put 34-feet 4.75-inches while jumping 18-feet 4.5-inches in the long jump. In the last event of the day Gibbins got the school record running a 2:32.27 in the 800.

The top 20 declared athletes will be accepted into the Division III NCAA Championships hosted in Winston-Salem, N.C. at JDL Fast Track on March 13 and 14.

The final list of meet participants shall be available via the NCAA website (NCAA.org) by 7 p.m. Eastern time.
