ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union men's soccer team tied in a double overtime Ohio Athletic Conference matchup against Capital 1-1, on Saturday night.
The Purple Raiders (8-3-2, 1-3-1 OAC) struck first in the 3
rd minute when senior
Xavier Pinaya (Monclova / Anthony Wayne) scored off a double assist from junior
Tyler Venti (Hudson) and senior
Colton Priester (Painesville / Riverside).
The Comets (8-4-1, 3-1-1 OAC) tied the game in the 71
st minute when Devon Hess found the back of the net off an assist by Mitch Hughes.
After neither team was able to score after two overtime periods the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Raiders are back in action on Wednesday, October 20 at 7 p.m. against Marietta in Marietta, Ohio.
