ALLIANCE, Ohio — The No. 14 ranked Mount Union's women's track and field team posted the two best marks in the pole vault in NCAA Division III so far this season to headline an indoor meet that featured the Purple Raiders beating Otterbein, Marietta and Muskingum Saturday at Peterson Fieldhouse.
The pole vault marks came from juniors Bri Aveni (Geneva) and Emily Phillips (Chardon) that went 1-2 in the event and nationally with marks of 12-feet and 11-feet, 6.25 inches respectively.
Mount Union posted six other event wins as senior Brit McCauley (Ontario) won the mile in a time of 5:24.4, senior Sabrina Stocker (Madison) picked up a win in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.27, junior Olivia Powers (Norwalk / St. Paul) ran a 1:20.24 in the win for the 500-meters while sophomores Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W.Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) and Micah Donley (Carrollton) took first in the 400 (59.70) and 200 (26.61) meters respectively.
The final win on the day was the 4x400 meter relay team of Donley, Powers with seniors Cortni Arp (Copley) and Hailey Miller (Lousiville) running to a win in 4:13.67.
The Raiders tallied 301 points followed by 164 for Otterbein, 76 for Marietta and 21 for Muskingum.
Mount Union hosts another meet next week as the Raiders will take on Baldwin Wallace and John Carroll Saturday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. at Peterson Fieldhouse.
