ALLIANCE, Ohio— Mount Union's Women track and field team came away with seven first place finishes along with the team title Saturday afternoon to open the season.
The Purple Raiders started the day of with two wins in the field events led by a personal record by sophomore Kanemah Rambi (Kenosha, Wis. / Bradford) in the Shot Put (39'-1.75'') and junior Bri Aveni (Geneva) in the Pole Vault (11'-2.25").
Mount Union ran to five more victories in the running events with seniors Brit McCauley (Ontario) with a mile time of 5:17.29, Sabrina Stocker (Madison) in the 60 Meter Hurdles (9.15), Hailey Miller (Louisville) in the 500 Dash (1:21.85), and sophomores Megan Wertz (Canton / GlenOak) in the 800 Run (2:28.95) and Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W.Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) finishing the day with a win in the 200 Dash (26.19)
The Raiders defeated John Carroll, Ohio Northern, and Heidelberg with scores of 186.50, 163, 94.50 and 74 respectively.
Mount Union travels to Columbus next week with events at both Capital and Otterbein on Saturday Feb. 14 at 10 a.m.
