Brian Livolsi (McMurray, Pa. / Peters Township) hit his first home run of the season in the seventh to give Mount Union a 2-0 lead.
The Raiders busted the game open with a five-run eighth as Mazza would smack a two-run homer to left, Eric Schilling (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) had an RBI double, and Trey Weaver (Franklin, Pa. / Franklin Area) hit a two-run home run which made it 7-0.

Mount Union did not wait as long to get the bats going in game two scoring 12 runs in the first four innings. The Berg scratched out four runs in the fourth, but the Raiders tacked on two in the sixth and two in the seventh and the game was called with the Raiders leading 16-4.
Marlowe had team-best four hits and seven on the day, Weaver and Dwayne Sumler (Indianapolis, Ind. / Warren Central) each had three hits and Schilling had two as the Raiders had 16 hits.
Carson Davis allowed four runs, three earned and struck out eight over five innings on the hill to move to 2-0 on the season. Jeremy Sassano (Fairview Park / Fairview) tossed two innings of scoreless relief.
The two teams meet again Sunday for a doubleheader this time at Rafeld-Rogers Field in Alliance. It will be the first games on the field since an artificial turf infield was completed in October 2019.
