ALLIANCE, Ohio - Mount Union's women's tennis team fell 6-3 to Capital in an Ohio Athletic Conference and opening match of the 2021 spring season Saturday at the Whitehill Courts.
The Purple Raiders (0-1) secured victories in a doubles match by junior MacKenzie Cavalier (Uniontown / Green) and junior Emily Messina (Sharon, Pa. / Sharon). Cavalier was able to also come up with a singles win over Capital as well as teammate freshman Emma Thornton (Canfield / Youngstown Ursuline) who earned her first collegiate win.
Mount Union will continue their 2021 season with a trip to Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday, April 7 beginning at 3:30 pm.
