ALLAINCE, Ohio— No. 8 ranked Mount Union Women's Track and Field Team posted five top 8 marks in the NCAA Division III and picked up the win with 233 points scored Saturday afternoon at Mount Union Stadium.
Bri Aveni (Geneva) won the Pole Vault with a jump of 12-feet .5-inches good for second in the nation. Emily Phillips (Chardon) finished second in the meet with a jump of 11-feet 6.5-inches currently tied for eighth in the nation.
The 4x100-meter relay team consisting of Madison Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan), Micah Donley (Carrollton), Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W.Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) and Cortni Arp (Copley) finished second in the race with a time of 48.07 good for third overall in the nation.
Arp finished second in the 400-meter dash but bettered her time running 58.34 good for sixth in the nation.
Michaelina Terranova (North Jackson / Jackson-Milton) ran a 1:04.77 winning the 400-meter hurdles which is good for sixth overall in the nation but she has a faster time currently sitting at 1:04.64. Sabrina Stocker (Madison) finished second in the race finishing I 1:06.41 good for 14th in the nation.
Kanemah Rambi (Kenosha, Wis. / Bradford) won the shot put in a distance of 39-feet 8.75-inches.
Stocker finished the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.63 to win.
Brit McCauley (Ontario) grabbed a win in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:19.29.
In the heptathlon Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) and Keirsten Daugherty (Heath) both competed on Day 1 here at mount Union. Gibbins leads with a total of 3,007 points currenty sitting in 15th in the nation and still has three more events tomorrow. Daugherty currently has 1,620 points on the day.
Gibbins cleared 5-feet 6.5-inches in the high jump during the heptathlon which can be used for marks in the high jump which sits second in the nation currently.
Mount Union heads down to Westerville for the OAC Elite Meet hosted by Otterbein on Saturday Apr. 17 at 11 am.
