ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team (2-5, 2-4 OAC) took down the Fighting Muskies of Muskingum (0-7, 0-7 OAC) and captured their first home win Wednesday afternoon in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup with a score of 6-3.
The Purple Raiders were led by freshman Emma Thorton (Canfield / Youngstown Ursuline) who had a clean sweep in her No. 3 singles action at 6-0, 6-0, and dominated at the No. 2 doubles with partner freshman Sydney Scotford (Poland / Poland) with a score of 8-5.
Mount Union will wrap up their 2021 regular season on the road this Saturday, May 1 as they travel to Otterbein with the match beginning at 1 pm.
