TIFFIN, Ohio – Mount Union's women track and field team sits in third place after day 1 of the OAC Outdoor Track Championships.
Mount Union is currently third with 53.33 points 10 behind second place Ohio Northern while John Carroll sits atop with 78 points.
Junior Emily Phillips (Chardon) picked up the lone victory of the day in the pole vault with a height of 11-feet 5-inches.
Picking up All-OAC honors thus being in the top three was Junior Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) finishing second in the long jump with a of 18-feet 1.5-inches, freshman Sydney Rambo (Columbiana / Columbiana Crestview) finishing second in the discus with 135-feet 2-inches and third in the javelin with a distance of 97-feet 10-inches.
In the prelims for the sprinting events freshman Madison Miles (Parma / Padua Franciscan) led the top qualifying mark in the 400-Meter dash with a time of 57.43 the Raiders put 6 of the top 8 times to the finals tomorrow as well in that event.
Senior Sabrina Stocker (Madison) leads the 100-Meter hurdles with a time of 15.05 with three other Mount Union athletes qualifying to the finals tomorrow.
Michaelina Terranova ( North Jackson / Jackson-Milton) leads the 400-Meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.85. Mount Union put 4 of the top 8 in the race for tomorrow.
