DELAWARE, Ohio – Mount Union Women's Volleyball team went 1-1 on day two of the Bishop Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan University.
 
In the first match Mount Union (11-1) beat Ohio Wesleyan (6-7) 25-21, 25-19 and 25-19.
 
Leading Mount Union was freshmen 
Heaven Bartell (Cleveland / St. Joseph Academy) and 
Alexis Meyer (Avon Lake) who had nine kills each while sophomore 
Isabella Sprunger (North Royalton) finished with seven kills.
 
Junior setters 
Mollie Thomas (Massillon / Massillon Perry) and 
Katie May (Brecksville / Independence) had 16 and 15 assists while junior libero 
Alyssa Kasaris (North Royalton) finished with 13 digs each.
 
The second game Mount Union was defeated by Anderson (Ind.) (5-7) 23-25, 20-25, 25-23 and 21-25.
 
Bartell led the offense with 20 kills while freshman 
Darby Leininger (Chardon / Beaumont) finished with 11 kills.
 
May finished with 22 assists while Thomas had 17 assists in the second game. Kasaris dug out 22 balls while Bartell had 16 digs and sophomore 
Adrian Petrisko (Elyria) finished with 14 digs.
 
Bartell and Leininger picked up All-Tournament team honors as well.
Mount Union will continue on the road traveling to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take on Westminster (Pa.) at Carnegie Mellon University on Friday, September 24th at 5 p.m.
