MARIETTA, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team defeated Marietta 3-1 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday night.
The Purple Raiders (7-2-4, 2-1-1 OAC) struck first when senior
Ryan Sarkisian (Hudson) found the back of the net for his first goal of the season off an assist by junior
Carter Hancock (Amherst / Marion L. Steele). The Raiders would extend their lead in the 22
nd minute when senior
Rylan Wikle (Olmsted Falls) netted a goal.
Mount Union would add a third goal in the 49
th minute this time off the foot of senior
Xavier Pinaya (Monclova / Anthony Wayne).
The Pioneers (4-6-3, 2-2-0 OAC) would cut into the lead in the 90
th minute when Elliot Britton found the back of the net, but Mount Union would go on to win 3-1.
