ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team beat Capital 3-1 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (8-2-4, 3-1-1 OAC) struck first in the 41
st minute when senior
Zach Minor (Uniontown / Lake) scored his first goal of the season off an assist from junior
Adam Kalvitz (Avon). Kalvitz would then score a goal of his own in the 44
th minute coming off an assist from junior
Emilio Spetic (Chardon / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) to give Mount Union a 2-0 lead heading into the half.
The Comets (2-8-2, 1-3-1 OAC) would cut into the lead in the 52
nd minute when Zade Awad was able to find the back of the net.
The Raiders would add a third goal in the 87
th minute when sophomore
Kabiona Ramadhani (Cleveland / Lincoln West) netted his first career goal to give Mount Union a 3-1 victory.
The Raiders are home again next when they take on Muskingum on Wednesday, October 19 at 7 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.
