WILMINGTON, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team tied Wilmington 3-3 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday night.
The Quakers (8-5-3, 3-2-2 OAC) struck first when Jeffry Vasquez found the back of the net in the 23
rd minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders (9-2-5, 4-1-2 OAC) would come back to tie the game in the 25
th minute off a goal by junior
Jamon McCort (Magnolia / Sandy Valley). Mount Union would then take the lead in the 31
st minute when junior
Carter Hancock (Amherst / Marion L. Steele) found senior
Rylan Wikle (Olmsted Falls) to take a 2-1 lead.
Then, in the 58
th minute Sakarias Bahamondez would score for Wilmington to tie the game at two. The Quakers would reclaim the lead in the 83
rd minute when Yusef Muqtadir was able to find the back of the net.
In the 90
th minute Hancock would find senior
Christian Egan (Manongahela, Pa. / Ringgold) for his first goal of the season to tie the game at three apiece.
The Raiders are on the road again next when they travel to University Heights to take on John Carroll on Wednesday, October 26 at 7 p.m.
