ADRIAN, Mich. – Three Mount Union wrestlers advanced to the semi-finals of the NCAA Central Regional Friday at Adrian College.

Nationally ranked Purple Raiders Jordin James (Bedford) at 141, David Massey (Cuyahoga Falls / Woodridge) and Jack Stanley (Brecksville / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) at 125 are all one win away on Saturday from a top-three finish and punching their tickets to the NCAA Championships.

James, ranked No. 1 in the nation at 141 pounds, had a pair of impressive technical falls to get to the semifinals.

Massey, the reigning Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Year and ranked fifth in the nation at 133 pounds, had a technical fall, a major decision, and a decision victory to advance to the semifinals.

Stanley, seeded second at the regional, needed to win just match which he did with a pin to grab one of the final four spots at 125 pounds.

Battling through the consolation bracket is Zach Berdysz (Perry) at 149, Jeff Dunfee (Ravenna) at 157, Chris Anderson (Streetsboro) at 165, George Lassnick (Painesville / Lake Catholic) at 184.

David Reinhart (Canfield) won his first match by pin at 174 pounds but suffered an injury and could not continue.
