MARIETTA, Ohio. – The Mount Union women's basketball team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference game to Marietta, 58-33, Wednesday night at the Ban Johnson Arean.
The Purple Raiders (7-12, 4-9 OAC) were led by senior
Isi Palamone (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) and freshman
Jenna Reppart (Leavittsburg / LaBrae) who both scored five points.
Marietta (18-4, 11-4 OAC) was led by Olivia Gribble who scored 15 points.
Marietta began the game on a 12-2 run as two free throws from sophomore
Sarah Meech (Smithville) and one from junior
Emma Cannon (Dalton) brought the score to 12-5 with 1:18 to play in the opening quarter.
Marietta grabbed a 28-8 lead in the second quarter with 4:08 remaining. Mount Union closed to within 15 on a 7-2 run.
Mount Union held Ohio Northern to just 26 points in the second half as the Raiders only scored 20 points.
Mount Union takes on Capital in OAC play this Saturday, February 12 at 2 p.m. in Bexley, Ohio.
