ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union Men's Volleyball team fell to Division II opponent Daemen (N.Y.) Friday night at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
Mount Union (7-10, 4-0 MVCL) fell to Daemen (N.Y.) (12-4) in four sets 16-25, 24-26, 27-25 and 17-25.
Leading the Purple Raider was senior
Sam Matonis (Macedonia / Walsh Jesuit) with 12 kills while senior
Mark Bruns finished with 10 kills.
Freshman setter
Will Heeney (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) finished with a career-high 30 assists.

Luke Trzeciak (Cranberry, Pa. / Seneca Valley) and senior libero
Steven Grenier (Hawthorn Woods, Ill. / Lake Zurich finished with eight and five digs.
The first set Daemen had 18 kills on .343 hitting percentage while the Raiders had seven kills on .167 hitting percentage.
The second set saw Mount Union finished with 15 kills with a .367 hitting percentage but Daemen had 17 kills on .414 hitting percentage.
The Raiders in the third set had 14 kills with just three hitting errors while Daemen finished with 16 kills and four hitting errors.
The final set had Daemen hitting 15 kills with six errors and Mount Union had eight kills with five hitting errors.
Mount Union will return to conference play taking on Baldwin Wallace at home tomorrow Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m.
