CINCINNATTI, Ohio. – Mount Union Men's Volleyball team stayed perfect in conference play defeating Mount St. Joseph 25-17, 25-15, 25-22 Friday night.
The Purple Raiders (5-7, 3-0 MVCL) was led by junior
Luke Trzeciak (Cranberry, Pa. / Seneca Valley) who finished with 10 kills.
Senior
Jeremy Leyden (Cuyahoga Falls / Hoban) and freshman
Will Heeney (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) had 14 and 13 assists respectively.
Freshman
Aaron Armour (Waukesha, Wis. / Catholic Memorial) had a team-high seven digs while Senior libero
Steven Grenier (Hawthorn Woods, Ill. / Lake Zurich) and
Cameron Ternent (Canal Fulton / Massillon Jackson) each had six.
Mount St. Joseph (4-7, 1-2 MVCL) was led by Jason Hascher who had a game high 14 digs.
The first set the Raiders finished with 12 kills on just two hitting errors for a .345 hitting percentage while Mount St. Joseph had nine kills with eight errors hitting just .040-percent.
Mount Union had just two hitting errors once again in the second set having 11 kills with a .346 hitting percentage as Mount St. Joseph had 12 kills but nine hitting errors.
The final set once again saw Mount Union commit just two hitting errors while Mount St. Joseph had seven. Mount St. Joseph had two more kills than Mount Union but hit almost .100-percent worse in the set.
Mount Union now travels to Springfield, Ohio tomorrow Saturday, March 5 for a match up against Wittenberg University at 1 p.m.
