Raiders Break Team Scoring Record In OAC Victory

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's lacrosse team broke two scoring records defeating Wilmington 26-1 Tuesday night in Ohio Athletic Conference play at Mount Union Stadium.

The Purple Raiders scoring 26 broke the previous record of 25 goals which was from April, 27th 2013 against Wilmington. Logan Gebhart (McDonald, Pa. / Canon-McMillian) also broke the school record for fastest goal to start a game scoring in nine seconds beating the previous best of 43 seconds by Hogan Harris.
 
The Raiders (7-4, 3-2 OAC) were led by Eli Ciotti (Canonsburg, Pa. / Linsly) scoring a career-high 6 goals.
 
Scoring three goals and having two assists was Alek Kungle (Canton / Lake) and Quinn Rooze (Pittsboro, N.C. / Northwood) while Gebahrt scored two goals and had three assits.  
 
Scoring two goals was Jake Miller (Green) and Liam Erwin (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior) while Connor O'Neil (Medina), Ian Dennison (Andover, N.H. / Proctor Academy), Alex Ellison (Uniontown / Lake), Grant Dunmire (Allison Park, Pa. / Hampton), Connor Addison (Mishawaka, Ind. / South Bend), Ben Jones (Neenah, Wis / Neenah), Logan Addonizio (Wixom, Mich. / Walled Lake Western) and Dane Matuscin (Washington, Pa. / Canon-McMillon) each scored a goal.
 
Logan Gunderman (Hamburg, N.Y. / Hamburg) had seven saves in goal for Mount Union for his first victory of his career.
 
Garrett Murrell scored the lone gone for Wilmington (2-11, 0-5 OAC).
 
Gebhart scored nine seconds into the game to get Mount Union going as it scored seven goals in the first five minutes of the game. The Raiders ended the quarter up 12-0.
 
Mount Union increased the lead to 18-0 at the halftime break. In the second half the Raiders scored eight goals to Wilmington's one goal.
 
Mount Union travels to Bexley to take on Capital in OAC play on Friday, April 15 at 1 p.m.
