ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team defeated Muskingum 26-3 Wednesday night at Mount Union Stadium.
The Purple Raiders (10-3, 5-1 OAC) were led by
Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) who tied her career-high in goals with six and had two assists.
Emily Nannarone (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) scored three goals and had four assists while
Mackenzie Kolstad (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior) scored three goals.
Sydney Bumbarger (Newbury Park, Calif.),
Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston),
Sam Karr (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter),
Emily Funk (Strongsville),
Tara Santoro (Canfield) and
Ashley Carr (Livonia, N.Y.) each scored two goals while
Julia Bates (East Lyme, Conn.) and
Madeline McCrackin (Kings Mills / Kings) each score a goal.
Muskingum (3-9, 1-5 OAC) was led by Riley Zwagerman, Megan Lang and Kennedy Norch with one goal each.
Mount Union jumped out to a three goal lead in the first 3:32 of the game. Muskingum responded with its only goal of the first quarter. The Raiders proceeded to score the final eight goals of the first period.
The second quarter saw a goal for Mount Union then Muskingum grabbed a goal. Mount Union then finished the quarter out scoring the final four goals to take a 16-2 lead into halftime.
The second half saw the Raiders get 10 more goals as they held Muskingum to just one goal.
Abby Lindkvist (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Haborfields) picked up the victory in goal for the Raiders with two saves on the night.
