Raiders Win Sixth Straight; Stay Perfect In The OAC

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team defeated Baldwin Wallace 16-5 in Ohio Athletic Conference play Wednesday night at Mount Union Stadium.
 
The Purple Raiders (8-2, 3-0 OAC), with a sixth straight win, were led on offense by Julia Bates (East Lyme, Conn. / East Lyme) scoring a game-high five goals and Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) having a game-high seven points with three goals and four assists.
 
Sam Karr (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter) scored three goals, Ashley Carr (Livonia, N.Y. / Livonia) scored two goals while Sydney Bumbarger (Newbury Park, Calif.), Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) and Madi Karr (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter) who each scored one goal.
 
Molly McGinnis (Brunswick) stood in goal for the 60 minutes making six saves.
 
Baldwin Wallace (4-7, 2-2 OAC) was led by Deanna Loukas scoring two goals.
 
Mount Union began the game with two goals from Bates, and a goal each from S. Karr and Kesler to jump out to a 4-0 lead. Baldwin Wallace scored a goal but the Raiders responded with a goal from Bumbarger to take a 5-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.
 
In the second quarter Mount Union got off to a 4-0 start again with a goal from S. Karr, Bates, Carr and Clark. Baldwin Wallace responded with two goals to end the quarter with Mount Union leading 9-3 at the halftime break.
 
The Raiders scored two goals in the third quarter with a goal from Clark and M. Karr while Baldwin Wallace got a goal.
 
The fourth quarter started with a goal from Baldwin Wallace but Mount Union responded with two goals from bates, and a goal form S. Karr, Carr and Clark to finish the game off.
 
Mount Union heads on the road for OAC play taking on Heidelberg Saturday, April 9 at 4 p.m. in Tiffin, Ohio.
