TIFFIN, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team defeated Heidelberg 19-4 Saturday afternoon at Hoernemann Stadium.
The purple Raiders (9-2, 4-0 OAC) were led by
Sydney Bumbarger (Newbury Park, Calif.) scoring five goals.
Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) and
Sam Karr (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter) each had four goals in the game,
Emily Nannarone (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) scored three goals and
Emily Funk (Strongsville),
Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit),
Madi Karr (Newark, Del. Newark Charter) each scored one goal.
Heidelberg (0-11, 0-4 OAC) was led by Fianna Ricci with two goals.
Mount Union scored eight goals in the first 10 minutes and finished the quarter off with four more goals to take a 12-0 lead.
The second quarter saw five Mount Union goals as the defense held Heidelberg scoreless once again.
The second half saw Heidelberg outscore Mount Union 4-2 as the Raiders two goals came in the third quarter.
Mount Union now sets up an undefeated conference matchup against Capital in Alliance on Friday, April 15th at 1 p.m.
