The Purple Raiders struck first when senior
Xavier Pinaya (Monclova / Anthony Wayne) scored his first goal of the season off an assist from junior
Carter Hancock (Amherst / Marion L. Steele) in the fourth minute. A little over a minute late Mount Union would extend their lead when senior
Tucker Ramirez (Maumee / Anthony Wayne) found the back of the net for his first goal of the season giving the Raiders a 2-0 lead.
The Terriers would cut into the lead in the 36
th minute when Jack Meinert found the back of the net cutting the lead down to one.
Mount Union would add to their lead in the 51
st minute when Hancock found junior
Jamon McCort (Magnolia / Sandy Valley) for his second assist of the game, extending the Raider lead to 3-1. McCort would score his second goal of the night in the 61
st minute coming off a pass from junior
Adam Kalvitz (Avon) to give Mount Union a 4-1 lead.
Hancock would pick up his third assist of the night when he found Pinaya for his second goal of the night in the 69
th minute, extending the Raider lead to 5-1. McCort
would add his third goal of the night in the 77
th minute to give Mount Union a 6-1 lead and record his first career hat trick.
Mount Union outshot Hiram 28-4 on the night and 9-1 in shots on goal.
