After neither team was able to score in the first half, the Purple Raiders (1-0-2) would strike in the 64
th minute when senior
Andrea Decker (Hilliard / Hilliard Bradley) scored off an assist by senior
Olivia McLean (Beloit / West Branch) to take a 1-0 lead.
The Gators would answer with a goal of their own in the 83
rd minute when Julieta Schworm found the back of the net to tie the game at one. Neither team would be able to score over the final eight minutes, ending the game in a 1-1 draw.
Freshman goalkeeper
Michele Hofacker (Akron / Copley) recorded five saves in her first career start for Mount Union.
The Raiders are home again next as they host Washington and Jefferson on Saturday, September 10 at 7 p.m. at Kehres Stadium in Alliance.
