ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team beat Muskingum 4-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday evening.
The Purple Raiders (5-7-1, 2-4-0 OAC) would scored just over two minute into the game when junior
Logan Godfrey (Huntingtown, Md.) found senior
Brianna Rapp (Grafton, Wis.) to take a 1-0 lead. Mount Union would add to their lead in the 36
th minute this time scoring off a goal from junior
Jillian Pidgeon (Homeworth / West Branch), Godfrey and junior
Teagan Johnston (Akron / Revere) provided the assist to take a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
Sophomore
Madeline Boulos (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Deer Lake) would then find the back of the net in the 48
th minute, scoring off an assist Godfrey to extend the lead to 3-0. Senior
Kaela Turle (Twinsburg) would score the fourth and final goal of the game off an assist from Pidgeon.
The Fighting Muskies (2-10-3, 0-5-1 OAC) wouldn't be able to answer as the Raiders would go on to win 4-0.
Junior goalkeeper
Rylee Oldfield (Liberty Twp. / Lakota East) and senior
Hannah Mitchell (Chardon) combined to record Mount Union's first shutout of the season.
The Raiders hit the road next when they head to Wilmington for an OAC matchup with the Quakers on Saturday, October 21 at 7 p.m.
