ALLIANCE, Ohio – The No. 10 nationally ranked Mount Union men's soccer team defeated Wilmington 1-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half the Purple Raiders (14-1-1, 5-1-1 OAC) were able to break the tie in the 51
st minute when senior
Adam Kalvitz (Avon) found fellow senior
Zak Peterjohn (North Royalton) for a goal to take a 1-0 lead.
The Quakers (2-11-2, 1-5-1 OAC) weren't able to find the back of the net over the remainder of the game as the Raiders would go on to win 1-0.
The win gave Mount Union their 14
th of the season which broke the school record for wins in a single season and it also clinched them a spot in the OAC Tournament.
The Raiders are home again next when they host John Carroll on Wednesday, October 25 at 7 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.
