NEW CONCORD, Ohio—The Mount Union women's basketball team defeated Muskingum 71-56 Wednesday night on the road.
The Purple Raiders (8-16, 5-12 OAC) were led by senior
Emma Cannon (Dalton) who had a game high 18 points.
Sophomore
Ali Hudik (Mentor / Lake Catholic), freshman
Mckayla Dunkle (Cadiz / Harrison Central) and sophomore
Dae Dae Nash (Akron / Buchtel) scored double digits with 13, 11 and 10 points.
Leading Muskingum (9-15, 6-11 OAC) was Tori Jones and Taylor DeMassimo with 10 points.
Muskingum got off to a hot start leading the game 19-11 after the first quarter. Mount Union bounced back with a huge second quarter outscoring Muskingum 26-8 to take a 37-27 lead.
The third quarter saw even play as Muskingum outscored Mount Union by just one point 18-17 while in the fourth Mount Union took control and finished the game outscoring Muskingum 16-10.
Mount Union will head back home for the season finale against Otterbein on Saturday with a 4 pm tipoff.
