ASHLAND, Ohio—No. 13 National ranked Mount Union men's volleyball team defeated Roanoke in straight sets 25-17, 25-20 and 25-16 Friday night.
The Purple Raiders (10-3) were led by senior
Cameron Ternent (Canal Fulton / Massillon Jackson) hitting .600 with 12 kills no errors on zero attempts.
Sophomore
Will Heeney (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) finished with 30 assists while senior
Luke Trzeciak (Cranberry, Pa. / Seneca Valley) and sophomore
Aaron Armour led the Raiders in digs with seven each.
Roanoke (5-6) was led by Pierce Faulcon and Michael Cummins with six kills each.
In the first set Mount Union had 11 kills with just five hitting errors for a hitting percentage of .316 while Roanoke had nine kills with eight hitting errors for a hitting percentage of .040.
The second set went the way of the Raiders with 15 kills and six hitting errors for a hitting percentage of .265 with Roanoke having nine kills and six errors for a hitting percentage of .115.
The final set Mount Union caught fire having 12 kills with no errors for a hitting percentage of .500 while Roanoke had 11 kills on five errors for .231 hitting percentage.
Mount Union stays in Ashland, Va. to take on host Randolph-Macon tomorrow at noon.
