Women's Lacrosse: Kesler Gets 100th Career Goal As Raiders Fall to No. 22 Kenyon

ALLIANCE, Ohio- Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) scored her 100th career goal as Mount Union's women's lacrosse team fell to No. 22 Nationally Ranked Kenyon 17-10 Saturday afternoon at Kehres Stadium.
 
The Purple Raiders (9-3, 4-0 OAC) was led by Kesler. Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) and Sam Karr (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter) each had two goals while Madi Karr (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter) and Julia Bates (East Lyme, Conn.) each had a goal.
 
Kesler and Abby Lindkvist (Greenlawn, N. Y. / Haberfield) each had four ground balls and Kelser led the team in caused turnovers with three.
 
Lindkvist made a career-high 15 saves in net for Mount Union.
 
Kenyon (12-0, 3-0 NCAC) was led by Caroline O'Neil with four goals as Nola Garand made seven saves.
 
Mount Union jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead thanks to M. Karr and Kesler. Kenyon responded with the next five goals ending the first half leading 5-2.
 
The Raiders once again scored the first two goals one each form S. Karr and Bates to pull within one at 5-4 but Kenyon scored the final five goals over the quarter to take a 10-4 lead into the halftime break.
 
Kenyon got the first two of the second half but a goal each from S. Karr and Kesler made it 12-6. Kenyon got three more in the quarter as Mount Union got one from Kesler which was her 100th.
 
Mount Union got two goals from Clark and a goal from Kesler but wasn't enough as Kenyon scored three in the final quarter.
 
Mount Union heads to University Heights on Wednesday April 19th at 7 p.m. taking on John Carroll in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
